Unmatched Power and Reliability!”
I’ve been using the 1991 Evinrude XP 150 HP V6 Carbureted 2-Stroke on my 20-foot fishing boat, and it’s been an absolute workhorse. This motor has incredible power and torque, getting the boat up on plane in no time. Despite its age, it runs strong and smooth—proof of how well-built these older Evinrudes are.
Maintenance is straightforward, and parts are still easy to find, which makes owning this engine a breeze. Yes, it’s a little louder and uses more fuel than modern options, but the performance and reliability are second to none. If you take care of it, this motor will take care of you for years to come. A fantastic engine for anyone who values durability and power!

“A Classic Powerhouse That Delivers!”
I’ve been running the 1991 Evinrude XP 150 HP V6 2-Stroke on my 19-foot bass boat for years, and it has never let me down. This motor is a beast—plenty of power to get on plane quickly and handle heavy loads with ease. It’s reliable, durable, and simple to maintain, which is a big plus for older outboards.
The V6 delivers smooth, consistent performance, and while it’s a bit thirsty on fuel, the power and acceleration are well worth it. If you’re willing to keep up with basic maintenance like carb cleaning, spark plugs, and water pumps, this motor will last for decades. A true classic for anyone who appreciates old-school 2-stroke engines!

“I bought this motor used, and it needed some TLC when I got it. The carburetors needed cleaning, and the fuel lines were replaced. After that, the Evinrude XP 150 ran like a dream. It’s fast, powerful, and reliable. It’s not as quiet or efficient as the newer motors, but it still performs exceptionally well for its age. Parts are easy to find, and it’s straightforward to work on.”

I picked up this motor second-hand for my fishing boat, and it’s been great so far. The XP 150 pushes the boat on plane quickly and handles heavy loads well. It’s a bit loud and requires some upkeep, but that’s expected from a 2-stroke. If you’re willing to put in the work, this motor won’t let you down.”

“I’ve had the 1991 Evinrude XP 150 HP V6 for years, and it has been a workhorse. The 2-stroke carbureted engine delivers consistent power, and even though it’s an older model, it still pushes my 19-foot center console effortlessly. Maintenance is straightforward, and parts are relatively easy to find. It’s not as fuel-efficient as modern engines, but the performance makes up for it. “I bought the Evinrude XP 150 second-hand for my fishing boat, and it has been reliable as long as you keep up with maintenance. It runs smooth and strong, pushing me up on plane quickly, even when fully loaded. It’s a little thirsty on gas, but I expected that from a 2-stroke of this era. The V6 packs a punch, and the acceleration is great. For a 1991 motor, it holds up well against time, but I do recommend inspecting the carburetors and fuel system if you’re purchasing a used one.”
